Intuition, simply put, is a sense of knowing something without having to think it through. If you've ever experienced any of the following, you were probably having a moment of intuition:
- A sense that someone was about to call you, or that someone needed help.
- A feeling that someone new to your life was safe enough to trust, or a feeling that you should keep an eye on someone you just met.
- An instinctive knowledge that a career path was where you belonged, or otherwise that you needed to leave a path behind in order to flourish.
Intuition is also a spiritual gift: it's like a signpost and an early warning system all rolled into one, intended to help us spiritually discern right paths and connections from wrong ones. Intuition doesn't tell us the whole story, but it gives us enough insight to be the basis for further understanding.
This means that if you feel like the vibes of a situation are off, or get a flash of insight to turn down an offer or stay away from a particular person, your higher self is sending you an important message. However, when you feel your heart growing excited about a change or a new start, or you feel like someone belongs as a part of your life, the message you're being sent by your higher self is equally as important and trustworthy on those occasions.
It is often so hard to tell right from wrong in today's world - who can I trust? Which spiritual information or teachers are reliable? Who and what should I be sharing my life with? Do I need a new start? Our intuition is the gift we've been given by the angels so that the thoughts and conversations we have about all of these big questions start off on the right foot.
Learning to trust our intuition is often a really important but challenging part of our spiritual growth. What your intuition tells you might seem too simple, or it might seem intimidating, but your intuition never lies to you. It's your higher self's way of telling you things that the logical part of your brain might not realise.
In our world, we're trained to give logic and reason the highest priority. However, the logic of our brains is only a tiny dot compared to the intuitive and spiritual wisdom of the Universe that our higher self is connected to. Our logical minds can treat us very well, but we often have to allow our intuition to cue our logical mind to do the right thing in order to come into alignment with our higher spiritual purpose.
Sometimes, your intuition might tell you to do something that seems confusing or inconvenient, but your higher self is your greatest friend and will never steer you wrong. By trusting in what you're inspired to do, you'll surround yourself with the right people and situations to take you to the next level, and the more you act on your intuition, the more you'll see how much you really can trust it.
